We offer a large selection of divans and mattresses, which are hand selected to offer the best possible quality and value for money. We do not compromise on quality, even on our budget range. There are three main types of mattress:
Coil sprung
There are varying styles of coil sprung mattresses which are all very similar. Generally lower end products mainly used for guest rooms and children. They tend to have fewer springs and fillings but offer varying degrees of comfort and support. All the springs are joined together, making it one complete unit.
Foam
They offer a superb support system with varying levels of support, soft, medium and firm. Thereby offering the correct support for any size person. Suitable to go on any type of base. Some makes have removable covers for washing. Foam mattresses benefit from being hypo-allergenic, resistant to dust mites, have no roll together properties, come in a range of different comfort levels as well as far easier to handle. They are also vacuumed pack into small boxes, making them suitable to fit on the back seat of your car when purchasing.
Pocket Sprung
Handmade product with individual springs which operate independently, conforming to the shape of your body, to offer the best sprung support system. The more springs, the more support the bed will offer you. (typical sizes are 600, 800, 1000, 1200 1400, 1500 and 2000) The more natural the fillings, the more comfortable and longer lasting the mattress.

Non-turn mattresses
There are not many genuine non-turn mattresses, so you must be careful when purchasing these. However, we have selected all our non-turn mattresses to contain memory foam or latex. All our mattresses meet with all the British Fire Regulations.
What is memory-foam?
Memory foam gently moulds to your bodies own individual shape, weight and temporature so you get weightless, pressure free comfort. It gently supports every inch of your body relieving the pressure that can hamper your ciruclation. The result is less tossing and turning, and more restfull sleep. They are also anti-alergenic.
Medicinal benefits
Did you know that if your mattress is too firm or too soft it could quite dramatically decrease the effectiveness of your sleep? There are many reasons for sleep loss, but research shows that the most commenreasons is discomfort, sleep deprivation has been identified as a factor in the national epidemics of diabities and obescety. Inadequate sleep may also decrease the immnue system.
Mattress coverings
The cover used for the mattress is important in the overall comfort feel of the mattress. So it is important to know what you are getting for your money
- Jacquard - is a type of fabric, woven on a complex loom to create elaborate patterns on one side of the material. In contemporary furnishing the term Jacquard is used to refer to the type of loom that is used to weav modern fabrics such as Damask. It is ideal for mattresses, furnishings, curtains and upholstery.
- Damask - is a reversible, soft, glossy fabric woven on a Jacquard loom to form intricate and decorative patterns. It is made of several fibres and blends such as linen, and offers a rich and durable finish.
- Microquilting - 'micro-quilting' or 'panel quilting' is a type of decorative stitch which holds the fillings in the mattress in place by running a stitch across the surface of the mattress in a pattern creating a flat sleeping surface, it is ideal for those who prefer a very smooth, even feel.
- Hand Tufting - involves pinning the fillings at specific points on the surface of the mattress with a long stitch that runs from the surface down through the inside of the mattress to the core of the spring unit, they look like buttons pressed onto the mattress and create a wavy surface. Hand tufting is found on most of the more expensive pocket sprung mattresses.
